    Wow that is fortunate noone was coming the other way!!!. Im fanatical /retentive about safety chains. My van even has breakaway brakes. i reckon it could do lots of damage if it ever got loose����

    I have owned jeeps from MB (war time )X 2, through CJ5, CJ7 renegade and for the last twenty years a J20 V8. (sold last month).
    All my life it has pinged me off when everything from a Rav 4 to a suzuki is called a jeep.
    Towing that van was a really nice looking Defender.
    If they only have that brake wire to stop their vans over there ,it will not work if you don't hook it up!
    Keeping going for at least a week could be an option.
    I might add that the delight of driving my disco trumps all other cars I have ever owned.
