    Hub size help

    Hi all...

I recently purchased a early Defender and have now bought a trailer to tag behind which has been made up from what appears to be 2 land rover ute bodies (swb).

I want to convert it from the axel and holden rims to the same rims as the Defender..

What I'm needing is the hub size or a contact on where I can buy the ready to go for a trailer..hope that makes sense ?

    Cheers Carl

Most trailer supply places should be able to get in hubs with the correct PCD (6.5" from memory), although they will almost certainly not have the correct thread studs. Same stud pattern for all Series, 90/110/Defender, RRC, Discovery 1.

IME "holden" slimline bearings are marginal for an offroad trailer running wheels with tyre size around 235/85 R16. the bigger rotating mass knackers the poxy outer bearing very quickly.

Depending on your game I would be guessing an axle and hub upgrade would make more sense than just throwing on LR hubs onto holden bearings

Cheers JD... I've contacted a local trailer manufacturer who asked for the PCD but didn't mention the studs though !

    Thanks again for your help.

Cheers for your reply...definitely going to upgrade axle, suspension as well as hubs.
