Camper trailers, any one have one of these?

Admittedly, a lotto win away. But, hey, we can dream , can't we?.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Too true mate. Match it up with the new Defender, probably have to sell the house. But, we all have our dreams. I think I will be driving the $8000 Disco 2 for a while yet. AND loving it.! 395,000 km's and counting.

Patriots can be financed for $137 a week according to their website. If I sneak off and sell the wife's Mazda we're there. Of course I may be kicked out of the house and have to sleep in it in the carport...

I once lived in our current Aussieswag camper for a year, so I've been there, done that.

I hired one of these last year for a trip from Perth to Gnaraloo (north of Carnarvon)
Really excellent camper. I think they're about $48K new. But climbing down that ladder in the middle of the night for a jimmy riddle isn't my cup of tea. So we've just bought a Pioneer Longreach instead. Just as well put together, but no climbing ladders to bed:-)

Any advice on the cheaper camper Trailers? I am looking at either the Black Series Commando or the Equivalent entry level MDC Camper. Max Budget $7000.

I bought a hard floor camper trailer from a mob in Melbourne for $5K, I believe that they are around $8 to $10K now.
It is a Chinese CKD setup and assembled here in Australia.
If you can get to the Importer and buy one before some Aussie would be Camper Trailer builder gets hold of one and Tarts it up a bit, then sells them for over $20+K.
My Mate bought one Identical to mine except for Independent suspension, some fancy paint and wheels and he paid $26K.
I am extremely happy with my Chinese/Australian trailer, can't fault the workmanship, but the assembly part was slack in a few spots, nothing serious and easily fixed, will find some pics and post up, Regards Frank.

My advice, if you can hire something similar to what your looking at buying for a weekend do it. We hired a Cub Hardfloor and found something that we thought would be great and were very keen to purchase, wasn't us.

Mates who have had the tent based trailers have moved them on pretty quickly, they found it not a lot better than just having a tent, the hard floor campers seem pretty good.

I'd also be looking at what you can buy used, theres so much out there in the marketplace you might be able to jump up a notch
