Must be getting old and soft

Nan & I started camping in an Oztent (RV3), moved onto a camper trailer and then a small popup.

Age (and arthritis) now seems to be a consideration when travelling so we have now upgraded to a full size van. (I can hear Pedro winding up already )

Some creature comforts were "requested" by Nan and we were prepared to travel to pick one up if required but after months of searching, we eventually found one locally. A immaculate 20ft (19' 6" actually) Roadstar, island bed, shower, toilet, full annex, all the usuals. The previous owner was even towing it behind a Disco. Nan's Territory does not (and will not) have a towbar, so my TDi300 gets the towing duties. Not something I am completely au fait with ATM.

Still a few years away from retirement yet, but the grandkids are spread around Qld enough for us to start enjoying it. So if you get caught behind an old D1 diesel auto towing a fullsize van with POP plates, I apologise. At least I don't wear a bowling hat

Enjoy. Certainly gives you some flexibility for your travels - and intended travels.

    nice rig!

hauling something that size around you'd want to be thinking of an extra oil cooler on the transmission IMHE

be a nice size when your stopped and taking in the world!

we will have to have an aulro "van meet" up the coast somewhere, sometime!

    towtent would love the exercise!

Additional oil cooler is on the list.

I already have upgraded the electric brakes to a new proportional unit and put airbags in the back. Currently working on hard wiring an Anderson plug inside for the fridge and out the bum for the van.

I have a second battery box (thunder box) inside the back door, so that will be my second battery rather than another under the bonnet.

    More pics soon Pedro
