I figure if anyone actually knew how to fix a dometic,,
they would have posted by now,,
dont they just blow the air into the fridge part from the actual freezer?

at the risk of total alienisation...
throw it out and buy a dedicated 12V fridge.
No one can run a dometic on 12V, even when driving. (which you have to do) The current draw is like 15A,, gas works fine in theory but how long to get the insides of a (180L?)fridge cold?
My 90l engal draws 3a and while we were away it ran for 8months solid, day, night, driving and parked up. Set and forget. Best decision we ever made about the van was to go solar and throw the dometic away.

I did just like pedro said...
I pulled out the old 3way fridge (sold it) and put in a nice new Waeco 12/240 volt fridge.

Yeah, the old Dometic will be getting the boot from mine when I can afford it. While it generally runs fine, cone Summer they are next to useless. They'll keep you butter from melting but won't keep a beer cold, so not much point...

I've seen Pete's and that certainly is the way to go IMO.

But, back to your question - I thought the freezer bit cooled the fridge as well, so if it's working, then it's working. As I mentioned above, are you trying to use it in the heat? They won't cut it very well above 28 to 30 degrees.

    Hi,
Getting rid of the heat is the biggest problem with them. We hired several vans with them installed with little regard to their operating mode.
Removing the ventilated outer panel improved things a bit, but not really a practical solution.
A 12V computer fan may help with ventilation, but although the gas fridge is quiet, and good for static camps, I think the modern compressor fridge (given adequate battery capacity) is the way to go.
    Cheers
