    What do you give up?

The pic below shows an older caravan with the standard 3 window front end,,, until you travel in one its hard to explain how great it is having all that open area,,,

But what do you give up if you want an ensuite?
Cant have a tailend bedroom And an ensuite And a 3 way kitchen table,,
    Just cant.

So what do you give up?

Unless the van is long and wide enough to have the en-suite in the middle on one side, en-suite at rear, bed at front and kitchen and table in the middle. Our 17'6" has a full width rear en-suite but the table is small mostly because the van is only 2m wide but still a good feeling of space due to all the windows and the light-coloured interior.

Older caravan? Pffff - that's a modern miracle compared to ours.

With only the 2 of us, the table/couch area is opposite the kitchen in the centre - seats 3 easily - the couch is long enough to lie on. The bed is at the back and where the front 2 bunks go is where the ensuite now is. I use a fold up table, so when you're done eating I put it away and it gives heaps of room inside the van. Just spent 10 nights in it, very comfortable.

The way the ensuite is set up, the front windows are still fully functional and let air and light in as required. It's like everything with camping and caravans - there are always compromises and what suits us may not suit anyone else and vice versa. I do still love looking at others setups to see what I can do better though.

What is doing my head in is that the bloody thing leaks when it's at home, but doesn't leak a drop when we are away in it - copped 25mm the other night and not a single drop made it inside but at home it will leak when a light shower passes by.

If its any help, we don't have a table in ours, just 2 recliners & 2 fold up tables. Makes the middle space flexible.
