Absolutely. Out of balance wheels put undue stresses on bearings and tyres.

I always check/change the wheel bearings springs and hangers on my trailers and van But I have never worried about the wheel balancing because when I get new tyres fitted I assume that the wheel has been balanced at the tyre joint.
Maybe next time I will make sure that they get balanced, Thanks for the "Heads Up"

I've seen box trailers with one wheel bouncing completely clear of the road. Whether it's due to out of balance or out of round, I don't know.

What I don't understand is how the car driver doesn't notice.

I always do. Saves the mechanicals as well as the cabinetry from being vibrated to bits.

Well got the wheels on my Jayco outback balanced and was surprised at how out of balance they were , one was reasonable and one took a lot of weights to even out , both tyres about 50% worn .

On the wheel that took the most weights there were 2 lugs at diagonally opposite sides on the outside part of the tread of the Tyre that were worn below the level of the rest of the lugs , unusual and not sure why this would be , could be out of balance or a worn shock ?? . FYI .

Quite often caravan rims and tyres are not the best of quality.
