Kool !
how much longer am i allowed to you keep you in suspense for?
so ran into a few small issues.
for the treg hitch, i bought a 2 inch drop tongue. it wasnt enough, turns out i need 7.5inch drop.
unknown to the salesman, even though the trailer is under 750kg, (tare 710kg) the trailer has electric brakes. i dont have a brake controller in the disco. I got a bit confused here. Apparently using the left indicator will activate the trailers brakes. I'm confused as to why. the guy who explained wasnt an auto elec, but he said he had seen it before.
so i drove home by only making right hands turns.

Ah Excellent !
Looks like a belter , give it a test sleep then go on an adventure .
The wiring issue issue will be something simple , run a multimeter over your plug to check .
Happy Camping ⛺️
This is standard - will be doing a couple tomorrow ......
Large round is different. See this page for 5 and 7 pin large round plugs:
Wiring Diagrams - Products - Narva
Note where the two plugs put the indicators, so some installers fit wire jumpers to both sets of pins. A barmy system but easy to fix.
The European 7 pin plug fitted to at least D3 and later incl my 2008 L322 allocates some pins for different purposes. The Euro set up has separate trailer circuits for left and right tail light from memory. One of those pins/circuits in the Australian pin layout is reserved for trailer brakes. So in my case when the lights came on automatically so did the trailer brakes.
