Which telly?
only use screw-in aeriel connections, NOT those horrid white cables![]()
6 circuits of 12 volt DC run and fitted off apart from the HWS and TV which aren't installed yet. Got a bit done on the lighting too, running some LED strips under the cupboards above the sink and stove which makes a huge difference.
Inverter is installed too but 240 volt side is yet to happen. Won't need this as much on this van as I'll be able to operate it easily without it apart from laptops, etc.

Will start on the shelf unit for the TV etc tomorrow night so I can get that all finished. Still need to go lash out on a new Winegaurd antenna....

Got a 21" Kogan cheapy which is fine for the amount we watch it. Will be on a bracket that will allow watching it from the club lounge, and outside. Yes, wiring will be with the screw on connectors - I have a set of crimpers for them and some cable too. The antenna I want isn't cheap but in fitting with the rest of the van, I'm not skimping here and will install a Winegaurd that winds up and down from inside the van. I can mount this almost directly above the TV so a nice short cable run to it. 👍

We upgraded from a 19 to 21" and now find no one still makes 21's,(this one has a usb problem--) and a new 24" will require a total re-work of its travelling position,, and block the hallway when in use..![]()

Your'e going great Homestar.
We also have a Kogan cheapie, $99 in 2014 if I remember correctly so yes the aerial is worth a few TV's.
No traveling with the TV on the bed for me:
I have the TV permanently attached to a swivel/concertina mount which is bolted to the wall.
Around the TV with the mount collapsed flat I built a cabinet which stops the TV moving up or down.
A door stops the TV from extending the mount.
A bit of sticky back carpet here & there has the TV snug in it's cupboard while traveling.
On the left & right of the TV is a gap that you can get your hands into to pull the TV out.
The antenna booster & 12V supply lives on the wall in the top corner of the cupboard behind the TV.
45k KM, 4 years later & even a trip to Birdsville & the TV still works.
Now, why the hell do we need the TV when there is nothing worthwhile watching? The aerial takes up the space needed for another solar panel.

Why indeed.
Its good if it’s raining or cold and you’d prefer to be inside![]()
But it’s good to catch up on the news,, ours had a DVD player, so we can watch stuff with that if we’ve got no reception.
That's a lot more than I'll do, but it will be mounted permanantly on a bracket with some sort of securing device - probably a bungy cord like in the last van... 😇. 30kkm with that and no dramas, but it isn't an off road van either.
Got 500 watts of solar going up on the roof already, I've designed it so theres just enough room for the antenna.
And no, we don't watch a lot of TV while away, but there are times on windy or cold days that is's nice just to veg out in the van for a few hours. 😊
