    No, just that sometimes it's cheaper to buy and then sell a 2nd hand unit, than to hire one and then be screwed for an excess.

    Someone was telling me how they hired a car in NZ & the radio got stolen. They reported it to the hire company and were told to return immediately. The car was replaced with a 2nd one. They also got stung a $4,000 excess twice, once for the stolen radio, and again for having the car replaced. Not to mention the couple of days they lost off their trip. The Hire company didn't care, they were O/Seas visitors and they had their credit card imprint.
