Thread: Trailer hubs.

Anyone know where I can get unbraked, trailer hubs with Ford bearings and early Land Rover stud pattern? Preferably SEQ.

I note you want unbraked.
AFAIK all of the ALKO hubs are intergral with the brake drums.

I had a disc brake machining shop cut off the drums to save weight . Pity I gave them away a couple of years ago.
BTW I tried derilling between the holes but it seemed to reduce the braking action, as the brakes work by a magnet pressing against the vertical surface of the drum.

With a flange diameter of 205-215mm, it doesn't seem like a drum. The trailer electric brake drums with integral parking brake shoes I have in the garage are at least 10" internal diameter

With a matching axle that would work, if the axle was wide enough to go under an 8x5 box trailer.

That could be a soloution. I'm trying to fit D1 mags to my Ford bearinged and PCD trailer. I gather the earliest (Series) studs are imperial and the Disco/Defender metric, correct? I have plenty of D1 wheels and nuts, can I simply replace the earlier studs with D1 studs, or are the diameters different?

Series 1,2,and all except very late 2a were 9/16"BSF, nearly all screw in, but for a very short period press in like the later ones.

Very late 2a, all 3, all 90/110/Defender, all Rangerover classic, all Disco1 are 16mm pressed in from behind. Various lengths depending on wheels fitted, but all interchangeable.

Freelander 1 shares the same PCD as the Falcon if you wanted to go down that route...
