						Hi All,
Very occasionally I have the need to tow a trailer fitted with electric brakes.
I don't have a controller, and would like to fit one.
A quick Google throws up options from $60 to $700.
The $700 one appears to be trailer mounted, so that's out.
What is the difference between a timed and proportional?
The vehicle is a 95 300Tdi Defender 130.
Any reason the $60 Reese POD controller, won't do the job?
Thanks
Tony
I reckon the POD would be OK for your purpose. It does pay to play around with the settings to work out how much trailer braking you need with different load weights, at different speeds. Also, if towing on dirt/gravel roads, you will probably have to tweak it a bit.
I didn't bother Googling the $700 item!
