    New to us!

Saturday 26th of April 2025 saw us taking a quick run to Adelaide to inspect a perspective van purchase.

We’ve been looking for a while for something to upgrade from our hybrid Jurgens Xplorer to a more ‘equipped’ van.

Inspection showed a very well cared for Traveller Sensation.
East-West bed, full ensuite etc. in semi offroad trim.

Picking it up Friday and straight to Kapunda for a couple of nights.

We are starting to look at options for our next van, will definitely have an en suite and most likely a single axle 16-17ft er.

We wanted seperate ensuite facilities - eg Toilet and shower. Then we wanted a few extra storage spaces.

I always wanted dual axle, not a fan of bigger stuff on one set as a blowout gets real interesting quite quickly. Watching lots of vans over the last 12 months quickly convinced me the dually units are much more stable.

Still had aimed for a 19.6 and ended up at 21.6 - go figure!

Lst is growing quickly for some upgrades which were planned from the start:
    - more solar (600w minimum)
    - 300ah minimum lifepo4
    - Diesel heater (on the shelf waiting)
    - ISI draw bar mount for our MTBs.

That's our thinking too, as we are planning on it being a true off-roader.

Slightly more noticeable behind the D4 compared to the Jurgens?

Just a bit. Still gets moving ok.

Happily held ~100km/h on hills around Kapunda / Clare region which was pleasing.

Can feel the dynamics of the extra length, Similar to when the Shark Cat is on the back.

New hitch to replace standard tow ball due Monday.

Starlink Mini has arrived. Mount is in transit.

Not enough USB charge points, so they’re on their way.

Victron MPPT inbound, as well as new panels for a bit of an upgrade in power generation.
Inverter inbound, not a large unit, only 1000w for those little items.

    Stone Stomper ordered

New LPG lines to suit LC27 bottles inbound

Annex mat, awning tie downs all on their way.

    Muk mats ordered!

Geez, they look good together, ay! Hope you enjoy it.

Funny how things progressed with us. We went from tent to soft floor box trailer, to wind-up, push out beds, Goldstream Wing1 (most liked in hindsight), to a 16' Off road Evernew (solid as), to the current King's MT1, roof-top trailer. The MT1 is the best thing we've found, so far, to suit accessing our favourite places.

Keep an eye on the 'Wet areas', Tombie. A relation of sorts, does 'van and camper repairs and some of his better income is from shower/toilet combo's. Not brand specific either, from what I gather.

p.s. I'd rather be towing the Shark Cat somewhere!
