Doesn't time fly ... we've had "Poddy" for nearly a year.
To be honest it hasn't really been used very much in that time, the Xmas trip, picking up furniture using the roof racks and helping people move house.
We bought one of the very first manufactured Pod trailers from Blackburn trailers and hence got it at a slightly reduced price.
When i had it home i wasn't happy with the fit of the rear tailgate it had a dip between the top tub and the top of the rear gate and didnt seal.
I gave them a call (they are made in Carrum) and the young guy down there was most helpful and apologetic.
I dropped it down the next day and left it for a couple of days whilst the changed the rear gate with one of the newer moulded gates and made some minor changes to update it to the current spec. Apparently they have changed the mounting method of the tub as they found that due to expansion and contraction due to the heat up North they needed to allow for a small amount of movement.
Whilst i was picking it up I had a chat to them for about an hour or so, its only a small company and the owner originally came up with the idea after getting sick of his stuff always getting wet when they were holidaying with tarps flapping away.
Ummm... let me think ... what else?
Ahh... some of the testing they did was to fill it up with boulders to the water line and drag it around a bumpy paddock to see if they could break it.
I also asked why they are so expensive, apparently they are all Rota moulded which is time consuming, im a little vague on specifics but if i remember correctly each tub takes 2 guys 4 hours to complete and this is done by a 3rd party.
I was accidentally sent a price list which included the Dealers buying price, (i might still have it somewhere) and they were making about 10-15% margin.
I hope this helps.. if you need any other info just let us know.
