Split system in a Jayco pop top

I am getting some info together, My neighbour has bought a Jayco swan off road camper and is in the process of installing a split system aircon in it. I have to say it is ingenious what he is doing. I will get a full range of photos for you and show you how it is installed.

So watch this space if your interested in how he has mounted it, it will be a few weeks

I'd be interested to see that. I'm currently doing up a similar type of camper trailer - it's a home made one built years ago by my father in law, and was styled on a Jayco pop-top. He did a good job of building it, but the undercarriage was way too light and running on Mini wheels and suspension. He used to tow it behind a Torana. I've just put a complete new chassis and draw bar under it, plus leaf springs and 14" rims with light truck tyres. Should sit a bit more level behind the Disco now.
    Cheers .........

I helped the old man put a split system in his van, they were wanting $2000 plus just for a caravan unit so he decided he'd just buy a standard split system for $300 and fit that instead. It works a treat.

i wouldnt be taking a jayco anywhere near the cape...

a goldstream offroad maybe, but definetly not a jayco from what i have seen when visting one of my clients workshops..

he just had one there where the outside walls were screwed to the cupboards and there was no reinforced mounting points fitted at all... i kid you not... talk about land rover having bad quality control...... blew me out...
