Disco 3 - Weight Distribution Hitches
I have a Disco 3 TD V6 and want to tow a 20 ft van, but I am told that the Hayman Reese weight distribution Hitch will not fit on the Disco 3 tow bar. How do other Disco 3 owners tow vans? Hayman Reese are currently testing a new towbar for the Disco 3 for release in July, but this will require the removal of the current towbar and fitting a completely new one at great expense! Are ther other weight distribution hitches that will do the job?

Hi
Pleased to hear they are releasing a better one. I have the HR weight distribution hitch and had emailed HR a month ago and they said they had no information to pass on. I hate the current arrangement. I had to get the spare out the other day which required unhitching the van, removing the hitch, then removing the hitch receiver with that fiddly key. Madness!!
(By the way I could not duplicate the key at the local key mart but had to go to a large locksmith)
the only problem I had was the original hole in the HR hitch was too close to the ball assembly which meant the ball assembly butted up against the receiver and the holes wouldn't line up. I got the hole in the HR bar redrilled about an inch further along the bar . I think I had this done at an engineering workshop who had the drill that was powerful enough. I also arranged for the 'old' hole to be filled in by welding in a steel bar.
Hope this helps
