    Hard roof trailer

    I am looking for ideas to build a hard roof trailer and have come across 2 nice designs, one from South Africa, the Conqueror Commander, the info is HERE and the other this Australian beauty with a suspension similar to the trailers for the army
    I like the design better that the TVan

    What are your thoughts?

    My main consideration is Weight, these 2 vans look a bit porky to me, you have to consider their capability off-road and weight is a big factor, have a look at something like a Trayon sitting on the trailer of your choice or an Outback Camper on a trailer, Regards Frank.

    Have you had a look at a TREK camper?? Try this link Trek
    Had mine for 5 years and its been dragged to the Cape and back twice, only thing that has been added was the annex internal lighting/battery/inverter

    I saw one in Moore Park Beach behind a Disco.
    The idea is excellent, this "trailer" was full body from the windscreen to the back.
    The only problem that I see is that the axel is located to far back wich gives a lot of KG to the drawbar.
    There is heaps of room on it.

    I saw the Vista at the caravan and camping show at Caulfield. I was totally underwhelmed by the lack of clearance on the thing. Have a good look as this turned me away quite quickly even though it was nice inside.

    I like the commander and I would like it even more behind the D2.
