Track Trailer Plus roof top tent Camper build

Well, i've been planning this for a while, and took about 6 months to find the Track trailer, but finally I've started to build my camper. We already have a rooftop tent, so decided to make a framework to mount it on the trailer, i will be enclosing the trailer and will probably eventually put doors on the sides, but havn't fully decided yet.

Chose to go as high as i have so that when the tent is open i can still walk under it, and also our mountain bikes just fit into the trailer stood up, so take up less room than being led down.

i will also be mounting an extendable awning frame, on the side to keep us covered up if the weather gets bad. will post more pics as the build continues

    Cheers all

    Thank you Andy.
Where are the shocks, if they are fitted?
The cross bars are welded in one end and work on a rubber bush at the other end?
    Cheers

    Hi Chucaro,

if you look at the first picture of the suspension, the shock is there, it goes from the back of the wheel rearwards, and yes the cross bars are rubber bush mounted at the chasis end and have the stub axle bolted onto the other end. if you do a search on the net for MC-2 suspension there's quite a bit of info out there. If you ever down this way your always welcome to pop in for a look.

    Nice work Andy!!!
Off to the city to collect my camper trailer top tommorow.
Then its time to modify my trailer to suit.
Was hoping to get it ready to "camp test" for the next school holidays but starting to run out of time

    update and question?

I'm going to be using galvanised steel sheeting to enclose the trailer, but not sure what thickness to use? does anybody out there have any ideas, i am thinking about 0.7mm, but not sure if that will be too thin? but i want to keep the weight down as much as i can, what have others used?

As for the trailer, well i've been doing the little things that don't show, but i have used Rivnuts in the top of the trailer to mount the tent frame, so that it can be removed fairly easily should i want to use the trailer for other things, i have also drilled the holes for mounting the tent.

all the required welds have been groung down and the weld areas have been cold gal sprayed.

I have also made the extendable awning frame.

I had hoped to do more but also had other things to do so hope to get more done soon. and will keep the updates coming!
