Well it has been a while since I updated this thread
Work has left me pretty busy so our trips have only been more of the day variety
However I did manage to order in four led strip lights tonight, which I'll fit in when they arrive. I'm thinking of running a small fuse box next to the current master switch but I'll cross that bridge shortly
Anyway the lights I got are: Twin Duo 50 Yellow or White 12V LED Strip Light - Camping Accessories - Lighting - 4wd Recovery Gear | 4wd Accessories | 4wd Equipment and Camping Gear Australia | Axe and Shovel Holder | Combo Shovel | Synthetic Winch Rope | Camping Lights| Autofrid
Cheers
Chris
P.S - I haven't had a chance to get to Sydney Peter. If worst comes to worse - I am posted up there Sep next year

Hi Chris,
I am thinking of travelling to Melbourne in mid-November. If you are still interested in the RR wheels, I could drop them off in Albury on the way.
Best Wishes,
Peter

Hi Chris,
No worries.
Do you live in Albury, or outside it?
Best Wishes,
Peter

Well the latest modifications have been done and it's ready for Tassie and the VIC High Country now - it's already packed
Please take a look at: Update 3 – Nov 2010 | 4WD'ing – The family way for the full update.
Cheers
Chris
P.S - it's a new website that I'm currently working on. I hope to have it finished soon, but there's so many trip reports to work through that I am struggling.

29 Nov 2010 was my last post
So since then the trailer has been worth it's weight in gold. It is amazing that we spent so many years with the Defender pack up fully with tent and everything else we used to carry.
Looking back it's hard to fathom how we did it! So in short I suppose you could say that I still love the Trak Shak and probably more now than when we first got it.
The trip to Tassie in Dec 10 was absolutely fantastic.

The VIC High Country was stunning in Jan 11.

SE NSW and the Victorian eastern coastline in Jan 11.

Blowering Dam in Jan 11 was a great weekender.

Mitta Mitta area for Easter 11.

Cabramurra in June 11.

Abercrombie - June 11

Stockton Beach - July 11

Lake Lyell - July 11

The big move to Townsville followed:
Cooloola

Byfield

Cape Palmerston

We put the old tyres from the Defender onto the trailer - I always swap them that way so I'm only buying 6 instead of 9 at a time.

We also rigged up a quick stone protector as the old one died of old age.

It's funny how things work out. I look at the photos of the Defender and I can see the three eldest growing up throughout them all. I look at the photos of the Trak Shak and I can see our youngest growing up.
It's all happening too quick I reckon!!!
Anyway, apologies about the quantity of photos however if you want more information on the trips etc, please visit www.cewilson.offroader.com.au
Cheers

Love the track shack style and space. If we ever do the big block it will be with one of them or a camprite. For the stuff we mainly do like weekenders and short stays the no. 5 should pan out fine. Just know i am gonna hate lifting in and out of the tub after a while though.
Have you had any wear and tear issues with it? I remember seeing one last year on display at camping show with rust stains down the sides. Not a good selling point!
Hoo-Roo,
Dave.
