    the silicone based stuff is usually used for resealing rubber or vinyl backed tarps.

    it wont bond properly with a canvas that has already had one of the "oil" type treatments applied to it.

    Just called around and asked the fellow on my way home from the shops
    He says most of the oil /wax based sealers mentioned here is quite ok.
    You can mostly tell by the smell of the cotton duck he says.
    He showed me his new nylon welding machine he bought at $15.000
    He says that a good percentage of his work is nylon now days
    customer choice he recons........
