Question Rain water leaking into front interior roof lining

Anyone else experienced this issue? Today it rained. I hoped into my car to find that the roof lining above the front windscreen and above the front door side windows was wet at the bottom up to about 50mm up.
The only things that I can think of that could of caused this is the roof bar rails or the sunroof, but there's no water around the sunroof so I think the roof rail bars. Is there a seal under these?
This water leaking in may also explain why my front sunroof doesn't work (the rear one does) - perhaps water damage to the electrics and/or motor.

    Hi Mate,
I had a wet roof lining in the left front corner caused by a badly sealed replacement windscreen. My disco was parked in my driveway with the nose facing downhill and the water would run down the gutter and into a hole in the rubber seal at top left of windscreen. This made a fair area of the roof lining wet. Is your car parked on a hill? Has the windcreen been recently replaced?
    Cheers Matt

Same here, only occurred when facing down hill. Dodgy windscreen installers. Minimal damage to the lining though however all has been replaced.

    regards

I only bought the car a few weeks ago so not sure about the windscreen.
The car was parked on the flat when this occurred.
Whats the go with the windscreen seal? Has to be taken to a windscreen shop or something that can be done DIY?

Jeez, 66 odd posts in only a couple of weeks. Make sense, you did buy a Land Rover.

Check if its a or the genuine windscreen. Should have Land Rover badge like the side windows.

Pretty common for replaced windscreen to leak.

Also do search on the forum for leaks. Plenty on here.

    Regards
    Andrew

Yes, there is plenty of threads on Land Rover leaks - not all windscreen ones though! Heres some good ones:

It doesn't seem to leak when the vehicle is moving.
I guess the easiest way for me to confirm that it is the windscreen that is leaking is to spray it with a garden hose tomorrow.

Cant always blame the replacement screen either.

Mine (TD5 D2a) had the original screen in it and the scrooges at landrover had put a beed of sealer less than 1mm wide around the top corners of the screen. In heavy rain water would come through and moisten the front corners of the hoodlining.

I had the screen pulled and resealed, presto, no more water leaks.

The guys (windscreens o'brien hobart) managed to save the factory screen which I was happy about. However if they had of broken it my insurer (RACT) would have paid for the job as I am entitled to one replacement screen a year.

It would seem that mine is an original windscreen:
