    passenger front window not working

    HI guys - any ideas?

It just stopped working mid way and is now stuck half open. No motor noise or anything - just the click of the switch when I press it - so it sounds like power at the switch - the other switches make the same click when they work.

The front drivers window works - as they are on the same fuse - so it's not that.

Any takers? Guess I will have to take door lining off - not looking forward to that.

Also anyway to get window up manually until I get it fixed?

    Help appreciated.

My first guess would be a broken roller on the window regulator. This will have caused the gear to stick. Getting the lining off is easy. Just be careful but expect to break one or two panel pins. Use a thin, stiff, flat object with a V cut in it if you can't get a proper tool.

The regulator is the same on the D1 and D2. You can replace the roller - do a search of the forum for the how on that - or just buy a new regulator. If you do need to replace a roller, I'd be doing both of them.

    update...

due to time constraints (going away wednesday for five days) I HAD to get it done by professional - turns out the motor was the problem - so looking for one at the moment - meanwhile window stuck up with timber and tape (on the inside of the door lining of course)

    Thanks for your help, anyway!

Would like to see a pic of that!
My drivers side is held up with a bit of bent coat hanger, and a nut and bolt with 2 washers.

Maybe we could start a thread on "temporary fixes while we wait 10 weeks for the right parts to arrive by Australia post canoe"!!

I'll post mine up when I get the door trim off again....honest!

    Something that may help:
    D2 Window Regulators
Don't buy them all though, eh?!?!?

    God luck.

Just for the record, the D2a front windows are separately fused, each with 30A fuse. Hope Discohobie didn't get conned by the auto electrician. I had problems my first D2a in which the left front window kept blowing its fuse. Turned out to be a fault with the BCU.
