I seem to remember this was a problem when the 90 was last sold here.

I like the concept, I don't like the lack of legroom or the price.

They only need to sell 1. It's the the idea that counts. It's the V8 Commodore, the Godzilla Nissan. Heck, it's the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The point of having it in the list is to say "We are serious." It's image. They'll sell to a limited market as stylish town vehicles. They'll sell to another (very) limited market as the base for off-road competition vehicles. A few might even go to "regular" 4wders.

Land Rover are bringing in all the body variants in the Defender. They are sending a signal that they are serious about commercial Land Rovers. They held off the 90, IMHO, to get the seats in the rear OK'd (they've never brought rear seated 90's in but a 7 seat 110 is a reduction from the 9 seater Countys.)

If they get their act together with support for Utility and Mining buyers then the DiscoDefender from 2013 should sell to commercial users like hotcakes. All the necessary safety fruit and coils all round with a Defender-style interchangeable panel body, and established engine lines. Toyota must be wetting themselves.

LR approached us to set up the "Land Rover Experience", but there was no help forthcoming from them, they actually wanted us to pay for the privilege of showcasing their product, now, for a 90 on attractive rates I'd be interested.

If they wanted to get serious about commercial Land Rovers, they'd put airbags in the 110 as standard and perhaps optionally on the 130. They'd get more market traction doing that than bringing in the 90.

    And that's from a 90 owner...

idk if i should say this but yes,, and i know that car, but never once have us in the back seen that car,, we have a guy at the front and what ever you do dont talk to him, ask for Paul, he will allways help you,

but in our defence i must say that over the xmas new yrs brake LR tec support in syd is on holidays, and no matter how hard we try we cant make things happen eny faster, untill landrover aus gets back to us,

the thing i find most and hard to believe is that when people complain about the service,, its allways us guys in the back that get the blame,
im not pointing or blaming enyone, were all landrover nuts here, and all here for the same reason,

Last i heard from Lyntons a couple weeks ago is a couple 90's ordered being delivered mid-Feb (i think). And sold a heap of fenders. Considering they specialise in primarily the higher end of the luxuries; that is pretty good for them. Unless you've got another dealer out of the area of course

It's a bit like TV programming. In surveys, people say they want more documentaries on TV, but when it comes time to watch, they turn to the soaps, dramas and comedies.
