    Lift pump alternatives?

    It's cramping my style ...

Anyone use an electric lift pump (otherwise, the Provent has to go outboard).

I know about the hose - I'm picking up some 1" rad hose tomorrow. Hopefully with a 90 degree bend.

any electrical pump that can deliver 4-7psi and 90-110 LPM free flow should keep you out of trouble.

Facet fuel pump. 12V, reliable and cheap!! May need to make a return line of somesort though as most electric pumps will have some sort of minimum flow rate.
These pumps look like a transformer.
Try your local Coventrys, Autopro etc

Thanks for that - I'll grab a Facet. Dave - did you mean LPH? Are there alternatives to a return line? If not, I would probably mount it near the tank.

That angle is fine for the Provent to work at.

You shouldn't need a return line (I have the same type of pump on my IIA diesel), there should already be a return line or 5 in the fuel system anyway. Btw - I have used them on petrol engines without a return line with no problems.

my bad yes LPH should be the units not liters per minute...

and the return line is taken care of by the return line from the pump so dont worry about plumbing one up.

I have an electric pump with I only switch on for priming after changing filters and the like. I run all the time with only the suction on the main fuel pump - it works for me.

Thanks guys, I'm going a facet - the Provent is all set up with radiator tubing (Ford EH I think), and looks nice, without fouling the injector lines, but I'm worried about the 12mm oil drain sitting on top of the fuel pump. One good engine twist (especially if I break a mount), and it could snap off.

I was going to use a Facet one on mine, 'till I found out they come in petrol or diesel versions. The Diesel one being twice the price of the petrol version. At over $200 for the electric pump I decided to just fit another mechanical one

the petrol one pumps diesel just fine, I use it as a transfer pump from my drums when Im doing a long trip with cheap QLD fuel on board for the southern states....

the flow rate drops off slightly but its nothing to worry about...
