I believe the Diesel one uses a different piston material, possibly stainless steel and a different seal material. I have heard the petrol ones will pump Diesel for a while (possibly years) and then seize, looking at the differences this may be due to swollen seals or a corroded piston. I'm sure they make a Diesel version for a reason
