That would be the daily driver that currently has a dead HVAC module and some dodgy vent actuators :mad: The weekend just gone I had the tray out for most the weekend, and next weekend the 101 might be parked out the front if I actually get to spraying the tray...Quote:

Just a cased of finishing the thing then booking it in. I checked all my paperwork is in order a while ago but both mine and the wifes daily drivers are playing up at the moment so been a little side tracked. After the service my commodore has developed a nasty lifter tick so I need to chase them up over what oil they have used before the motor self destructs. The whole reason I bought a newish car was to try and avoid all these sorts of problems that I had with my 10 year old disco :twisted:
I've got my rear seats and seat belts sorted though so I should be able to get it rego'd as a 5 seater!
Hmmm. Rego'd as a 5 seater could be useful. I wonder if I could do that too? Where does the rear seat go? I might have to have a look into that. Be good to always have the option.

I only had the frames so had to get cushions made up (not cheap!). I'm banking on it being easier to get rego'd with 5 seats up front rather than going back later to get the rear seats engineered.
One side has two seats while the other side only has one seat.
Its been a busy couple of weekends but I finally have paint on the tray, albeit, not enough. The pics will now unfrotunately be slightly lower quality, I've got a new phone that's far easier to take quick snaps with rather than pull out the dslr.

I used a Raptor tray liner kit that comes with four bottles. I'm about two bottles short of being able to do the whole tray properly, you can see some dark patches where the paint hasnt provided full coverage. I'll buy another kit this week to finish off the tray and use the extra two bottles to cover under the front cab at some point.
Looking great Stuee:cool:. By chance, do you (or anyone else for that matter) know if the rear seats are the same as the ones I found in my '64 S2a? I haven't looked at them for quite a while, but I'm sure the base folded up like that but I can't remember any other details like the backrest or the side rails.
I'm definitely getting keen on the idea of registering mine with the same seats in the back. Be very interested in seeing how you get on with the pits inspection. It will delay getting mine registered, but probably worth it in the longer run.
Seats are different , but do able.

The final coat of Raptor Liner has been applied to the tray! It feels good to finally get this job out the way.
A bit of advice for anyone else who is considering sparying a raptor liner on the tray and side panels, before the first coat pour some pre-mixed raptor liner into a small container and brush into the corners and hard to reach places. This means you don't waste heaps trying to cover a small area. Coating afterwards will still give you a textured finish but you'll have full coverage.

This afternoon/evening Ill apply some silver hammer coat to the front uprights and cut some new rubber mounts. Hopefully I can find someone who can help lift the tray onto the 101 tomorrow and I'll have a heap of space back to prep and paint all the trimings etc.
I got the tray put onto the 101 on Sunday, this involved re-making all the rubber mounts with the correct thickness rubber, mounting a few panels and other bits and pieces. I had assistance putting the tray on from my best mate on Sunday and we spent most the afternoon trying to get all the mounting bolts in and the tray lined up. I didnt read the parts manual properly and was trying to use 10mm bolts between the tray and the front outriggers. These should have been 8mm bolts which would have given the tray just enough movement to bolt up the remaining mounts. I finally got it all bolted up tonight after having a break from it on Monday.

The brake switch was also giving me grief, I pulled that apart tonight and it was simply corrosion and dirt on the contacts. Before:

I also gave it some switch lube so hopefully it goes for longer without needing to come apart.
This weeks goal is to get the 101 ready for a moving permit on Monday and a trip to the panel beaters. I have the following list which needs completing by then:
* Fit drivers side door hinges.
* Fit seal to drivers door - not leading edge seal
* Septone Rust Proof Door Frame
* Fit drivers side door.
* Fill up with fuel.
* Cable tie up speedo cable.
* Fit engine cover.
* Fit gearbox cover
* Wire brush mud guards and wing mirrors.
* Paint mud guards and wing mirrors
* Fit mud guards and wing mirrors
* Mount and wire up reverse lights
* Fit split pins to castle nuts on steering.
* Drain gearbox and transfer oil and refill.
* Check all fluid levels
* Fix rear brake lever to rear diff and adjust
* Check all wheel nuts and suspension mounting bolts.
* Mount front seat belts.
* Wire brush windscreen
* Paint windscreen
* Mount windscreen
Quite a few jobs, but after this and its back from the panel beaters its really all just cosmetic stuff like painting trim pieces, riveting trim back on and fitting the hood sticks and tilt.
