I've done these quizzes before. The answer is "One is fictional and one is real."

    Exhaust Brakes

The exhaust brake is a valve placed in the exhaust to restrict gas flow under declaration.
    Only for diesels
It is a placed in the exhaust pipe just down from the turbo, it is a flap that is controlled by engine vacuum, it closes off the exhaust under declaration, causing back pressure in the engine slowing it down. Obviously it only affects braking when in gear.
It has micro switches so it knows when you have you foot on the clutch or accelerator.
It is very effective particularly on steep descents where it keeps the speed under control without having to touch the brakes.
It greatly increases the life of the brake shoes.
It can be turned of if you don't want to use it.

Sorry I meant who put it on etc.

I've been toying with the idea of having one (although I dont really need it)

I just love the sound of compression brakes lol

Shame to see this vehicle go.... Was hoping I'd get to meet it one day especially as its so close! I was talking to the guy in Gawler with the 'other' 101 and he said he'd seen it in Adelaide.. As for exhaust brakes... They're brilliant. I'm fitting one on the Cummins before it goes in. Hope your sale goes ok. Cheers. Simon.

    Hi David

I saw you and this impressive vehicle at Windsor in NSW a few months ago one Saturday morning. I only wish I had the money, this is something I have been looking for for many years..

The best of luck to you.
