    spare wheel bracket

Hi, am currently tidying up a 101 I picked up for Christmas, does anyone have a spare 5 minutes to photograph the spare tyre bracket mounted behind the drivers seat.
Mine is missing completely and I would like to replace it.

Hi Mark. I have the piece that bolts into the wheel, and then bolts onto the upright pillar that Ron has pictured. If you could get an accurate drawing of that pillar, I could make one out of 3mm steel, as from memory it is only a folded piece, then add the wheel piece to it. Just one thing to look at tho... How far into the spare wheel space does the hard top protrude? Your upright bracket might have to be slightly different to suit it...

    Hi Sitec,

The hard top is built over the top of the original hoop bow behind the drivers position and utilizes the soft top door guides.
As you can see from the attached photo, there is a door specifically for the spare to come out of from its normal storage position.
I am assuming the bracket is folded around the bulkhead and extends up far enough for a bolt to secure the wheel in position.

I dont know who built it but it has a full timber frame and clad in plywood/aluminium.
It has come from the UK with the roof, I cant prove it but I have been told it came from the RAF with it.

I have mine removed from the vehicle as it is a PITA having it where it was designed to be. Forget about looking over your shoulder to check for traffic, or pretty much anything else behind you.

If you want I can dig it out, and take some measurements and photos if you want to fab something up. If you were a bit closer, you could borrow them to copy.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
