Specifically:'there is a private remlr area for this sort of chat, if you are a remlr member see phoenix for access..' The thread was 'Trailers For Sale' for everyone.

So, how do we get access if we're not a REMLR member to discuss our particular interest?.

Do you think it might be a good idea to state what cannot be posted in a window, prior to entering a forum?, of course besides the usual expletive comments. I obviously would not have started a thread had I known I would affect someone somewhere in the world.

    Cool

....Anyway for those that would like to see a little more of this most unusual vehicle, I will post a few more pics taken this morning, then I will retreat into my 42Deg dengue induced fever..................... I guess the military's always been about cloak and dagger!, why should REMLR be any different!.................... Note the two notices have been removed!.

so you want the benefits of membership without actually joining...

the "this sort of chat" is chat relating to prices willing to be paid or that were paid" amongst other things

not really something you want commercial sellers who you know are watching to know i would have thought.

anything technical etc etc etc is freely available to all at The Registry of Ex Military Land Rovers. Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere. and in the open areas of the remlr forum..

hardly cloak and dagger stuff ole mate....

otherwise get a ex mil vehicle and join, costs nothing

Get an ex mil vehicle and join? What and have no benefit of knowing what the price is likely to be before you buy!

The price is what the market will bear and all the cloak and dagger discussions aren't going to change that

It may have been a better idea if you had PMed me this information in a friendly manner, rather than insinuating that by innocently posting a pic of an interesting vehicle noticed in my local area, I may be 'raising the visibility" of the vehicle. This again reeks of the same cloak and dagger sh*t that is currently aflicting the REMLR section, blocking what was a informative public forum, from those who have a genuine interest in the discussion points.
You are reading something into this that is not there - I was not insinuating anything about your post - of course you have right to put the information up - given the way you have taken my post maybe you should have sent a PM to me to discuss your concerns.

I have heard that the driven trailer can give serious problems on sharp turns (trailer wheels travel a shorter distance than rear wheels of towing vehicle, but are locked to the same speed - similar problem to sharp turns with the centre diff locked, but made worse by the fact that there is a joint in the middle, and the trailer is trying to push the rear wheels sideways from a point above the wheels), but otherwise apparently has no other problems.

    Thanks John
Thats what I suspected which would be amplified in an off road situation

    my point exactly!

and we wont mention that it helps prevent sellers putting an inflated starting price as they have done in the past after gathering info from places like this...

Thanks Gerry (not entering the debate on REMLR forum)

That 101 must be running 4.7:1 Salisburies! Looking at the pics of the trailer:

Thats an ENV diff and they only came in one ratio 4.7:1

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Um,

I think you are getting the pic of the trailer axle confused with the FC(Even though I can see brake lines in both pics)

    No secrets there
