    Oil Temperature Gauges

Is it worth having seperate gauges for the transmission and transfer case?

I'm looking at which gauges I want in the mud dash at the moment. I've had a lot of trouble in the past with very warm transmission/transfer cases and I want to monitor the temps. But I'm wondering if I'll get the same reading from both areas considering their proximity to each other?

    Cheers

No matter what the problem - there's a solution. You've just got to find it.

    Hi Chris,

As the previous post was useful my only advice is don't buy a Prado:

Can we laugh at the new Prado again?

defenders come with a built in warning device for the TCase/gearbox.

its called the hand brake. lift up your trouser leg and rest your calf against the handbrake. When you cant keep it there any more you've gotten to the point that you need to slow down.

Thanks to all. I'm going to guess that I can get away with the one gauge on the transfer case.

BTW - my other vehicle is a Prado
