    Squeaking brakes while reverseing.

    G'day fella's.

I had my brakes done about a month ago. Rotors and pads. The problem is when I back out of the driveway and apply the brakes they squeal like a shot pig. This does not happen when I drive forward. Is there any thing I could do about it. The neighbour is getting cranky every morning the pigs are roused.

Hi Dave, You haven't given a lot of data. Front or rear ? Are the rotors slotted or vented ? Type of pads ?

Almost sounds like a mismatch of pads and rotor type.

A bit hard by remote, but here is a simple option. ( You have to make the decision about whether you are going back to your brake guy before acting on this. He won't be too helpful if you have fiddled with the pads )

Take the pads out and grind off the sharp 90 degree edges. Won't cost you anything to try, and will not effect the efficiency of your brakes.
