It can't be true, Defenders don't leak, if they did Landrover would print a Defender water ingress manual. Oh hang on a minute, they do, and it's right here...............Links and Downloads Manager - Australian Land Rover Owners .............. and it's only 35 pages long

    From a Nissan forum:
The Dum Dum Wick refers to is the Non Hardening Strip Caulk. 3M's is called Strip-Calk; Part No. 051135-08578 for the Black. It comes in 1/4" diameter (or so) strips 1 foot long, you get 20 yards per box. You can usually pick this up at a good Paint Shop that carries the 3M body working line.

2234jones - thankyou so much for your link. got a bit of work to do now and a few tube s of silicon to buy. For christ's sake, they must have used my def as a model for that manual. I'd forgotten how many places it comes in.

Shouldn't it e my Defender diesn't leak when it rains. Anyone else ever had this problem.

My solution is to park on different angles each time so it all runs out.

Use Sikaflex. Dum Dum is good but this stuff is better and will most likely outlast your vehicle. It's what the pro's use now too.

Mine leaks through the worn out rivets in the roof gutters, probably due to previously fitted roofracks.

I now park it in the garage if it looks like rain, problem solved
