That looks like the one which was built by THE_109 on here. A hybrid of a SIIA ex-army and a Stage 1 V8 - which was later converted to a trayback, then to coils, and it may even be supercharged??? Not a defender - but certainly "tough"

I first saw it out at Black Duck / Gatton when it was first built - he broke a CV the first day out

I heard rumours that some guy called Bush65 was building one of the toughest (road legal) Defender (chassied) utes in Australia...

Stage one RRC - Def want to be

Here is a pic of our build - mocked up in Yellow and Black - will be called "Bumblebee"

Motor going in this month and hope to be on road mid year. Will have 3.5 Rover supercharged with ZF auto, lower transfer gears, Nissan GU diffs (at this stage - keeping stage one diffs as possible alternate), lockers, 35" tyres.
Cab will be a little deeper than normal for seat room and gear.

89 Orange Rangie UTE - our play thing - sadly now sold
    75 Rangie/Series/Hybrid/LS3 - Bumblebee with a sting!!!!

    thanks for that pic slunnie.

    That has got me thinking.

I am 6 foot 6 in the old book and not that delicately built and I am thinking it will be a tight fit into a single cab defender.

What if I cut down a 110 wagon. Would it be possible to cut the roof back at the C pillar and close it in there and create a sort of wellback body

this would give me heaps of legroom and storage in the back.

    what do you think

It is a b&stard child, no defender/110 parts except chassis. Some rangie and jap bits. Rego should say Land Rover 110 (as determined by chassis), but none here would concur.

    Don't forget the engine...

In my view it will be a 110 they way they should have been built to start with!
