Just my personal dislike for the way they operate,
There are other companies that have similar practices to them ....but this is not helping lamb and his 110

    why is it not helping?

I don't think you having a personal dislike to a company is not helping when you have no idea whether they could potentially be cheaper for him to be honest.

The reason I posted them is they would take the hassle out of the importing side of things. which for some people is a big hassle.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    Thanks Andy,

The second picture is of the chassis, just behind the third crossmember, its the same on both sides. Thats what I am finding peculiar, it the chassis not the outriggers or crossmembers that are rusting/rotting, I'm beginning to think that it might have been through a bit of salt water in its life time, either that or it clogged up with mud and nobody bothered to clean it down.

Regarding the firewall, that's not all the rust there is, I ran out of space to upload the photos last night so I left it as just those. The rust is almost symetrical, if its on oneside of the firewall its on the other, I haven't taken the heater off yet to look behind that but I think I might have to.

Photo number 5 is just some damage to the bottom of the cab itself, looks like something has eaten the metal away, doesn't look to serious though.

Those chassis' are a fair bit cheaper than I thought they would be, they work out at around $2000 + freight. I meant to ask on your other thread Lardy, where did you get your firewall from?

there are some centre section bulkheads kicking around i saw in the U.K. I will have a look for them and get back to you. they look gal and are the bit you need A-post with centre ...your rot is common on the bulkhead behind the heater is usually 6-8 inches across ...can be that the heater matrix is leaking, and behind the brake master cylinder ...my bulkhead was an aquisition from Australian defence force

How about this one Andy, LAND ROVER DEFENDER BULKHEAD TD5 /90/110 on eBay (end time 03-May-10 20:59:05 BST) or do they normally increase in price as the auction draws to a close?

That looks in good nick Looks like a bit of something happening where the footwell joins the floor but if it's minor i would watch it until the end of the auction then go large i reckon 350-400 quid, if it comes in for less than a grand and shipping you got a deal shipping might be $400 through FEDEX and will take a week . check with the buyer now that they are willing to ship to aus as some are lazy buggers and just want the cash for no work.
Dont get your hopes up until it's in the bag mate it's the nature of Ebay.
If you get it as it's a td5 the loom will be no good to you.
You will have to use yours.
But keep it it may come in handy for someone doing a conversion and you may be able to do them a good turn, when you get it steam clean it (U.K. salt on the roads that eat Land Rovers ) dry it out for a week and then treat it in the seams with Wurth Australia Pty Ltd - Catalogue the small can is $26.65 a can and will do all the seams on the bulkhead mate.

Just spent lunch time ringing around, Rovacraft don't have any chassis or bulkhead's in stock at the moment but they'll get back to me tomorrow with a quote for both, ex UK.

I spoke to Triumph Rover in Adelaide and they can do a chassis and firewall combo for about $1700 (110) with the firewall being about 600-800 depending on whether its bare or if I want any of the components.

I also spoke to the landrover guru in Melbourne that I deal with and he has a bulkhead for $600 and a chassis (130) in northern victoria for $300, only problem with that is that the front left hand outrigger has been gas axed so it would need a new one, but its in really good nick other than that.

At this rate it looks like its going to be much cheaper sourcing a bulkhead locally, I would have thought that it would be dearer. If I don't end up getting the 130 chassis is anyone else interested? Apparently it has come close to being cut in half and sent to the tip.
