Sunraysias look awful, they look like the cheap rims you get from a motor shop. The Wolf rims look are better, and are designed for the 130. Dont fat tyres affect the all set up of the Defender???

And wolf rims, are just heavy duty rims, that are fitted standard to the 130, and option on other defenders. Both tubed and tubless are availble, but only tubless come standard here.

OK, and thanks - I stand corrected - sorry pc3 for the bum steer - maybe you will have Wolf rims.

Although - it is confusing (at least to me ) ...that article goes onto say...They are an inch wider than the standard 5.5 inch Land Rover steel wheels....

So - on which vehicle does the standard LR steel wheel come on?

A standard Defender wheel is what was fitted to the regular 110 Defenders.

I think that site is just one Landrover owner man's opinion

Fred's been working on landys for more than 30 years now.

He is the Landy Guru in Melbourne and it is he who told me in no uncertain terms that tubed rims are not Wolf Rims.

Having said all that , if both tubed and tubeless variants were fitted to UK Army Wolf Landrovers , then I guess you could say that the tubed ones are technically Wolf rims as fitted at some time to Army Wolf vehicles

I'm taking by tubed Wolf rim lookalikes off the County and fitting the BFG Muds off the Stage one to use as my offroading Spare wheels and tyres

Just having clocked-up 15,000km in my 130 (with the standard tubeless "Wolfs" and XZLs) I have the following observation:

• I quite like the look of the combination, and I'm convinced the XZLs are quite a capable muddie.
• XZLs are very noisy on the highway.
• I've worn a 1/3 of the tread off the tyres (much of the 15k were done fast highway driving). I guess I'll have to chuck them before they have done 30k!

As (if I remember correctly) The Ho Hars remarked elsewhere, the XZLs don't seem to handle heavy loads all that well. So if you intend to stick a heavyish camper on your tray you'll probably get similar results. And at $400+ a pop I think I'll be looking for something else in a year's time.
