OK. Where are all the defender gurus?

Around 2 years ago I had the clutch changed and a heavy duty unit fitted. This was done because the gearbox was out. Now I think it is starting to slip. NO, I do not ride the clutch pedal, and this has about an inch of free play before starting to activate. Is there anything else I should check before starting to panic? Jim

Hve you been towing heavy loads?
What sort of power do you get going up hills? Turbo working ok?
Just had it checked by Bruce Davis and it goes in next tuesday for full checkout. He readjusted the clearances but it is still slipping. It was replaced less than two years ago with a heavy duty unit. I do little towing and only light. Almost 100% on road use.

I have seen a flywheel refitted on a Tdi without sealant/ loctite on the flywheel to crank bolt threads. This WILL allow oil to get through and fling outward onto the friction plate as the holes go through to the rear main bearing area.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Well finally I have some good news. Having had the clutch adjustment checked last Thursday and the slip not fixed, Today it has been rectified. Apparently they were able to readjust it and now it doesn't slip. Don't ask me what they actually did but I only had a labour charge to fix it. Jim

No rocket science involved.Just need to make sure that the rod isn't pushing the piston into the cylinder.Easiest way to check is to make sure you have a small amount of freeplay at the clutch pedal.Sometimes workshop manuals go into to much fiddly details for minor things.Never had a clutch fail on me in over 35 yrs in the trade.
