Yes, still in Gove, Craig. Good to hear another Defender owner has moved to the NT

As for the Puma, LR have provided a new lock set and keys. Just has to be fitted which should be today.

I'm very surprised as I was worried about how LRA was going to handle this and I have to say that everything was handled very well. I can't complain about it taking over a week to fix as it happened close to a weekend and there is freight delays involved with anything to Gove. The only thing that could have shaved a day or two of the time was if Gove Motors was still a service agent like in the old days and could have got things direct from LRA.

My wife will be very happy not to be driving the Tdi around. My health has turned a corner and improved a lot in the last three days. They still don't know why but I'm able to get around and was able to get back to work again.

So all things considered it's been a very good week

    Key fob range has improved!

Several months back I increased the antenna length on the Puma's alarm only to find it did nothing to improve things Still a very short distance before the fob would be acknowledged.

Now, after getting the car back from having the new lock set installed, I can unlock it from about 20m away

    Now that's an improvement

So I suspect there must have been something loose that was rectified by the new ignition lock. The same immobiliser ring is in use though but of course everything was taken off to replace the lock. The driver's and back door locks were also exchanged and I have new key's but the same fob.

So I guess it may be worth investigating under the steering column covers if your fob range is limited.
