    Fresh air into air con?

    Hi Guys,

Does the air con unit in my 2003 TD5 Defender source air from the vent on the left guard or is that vent only for the heating system? If the air con does get it air from that vent then I'm thinking of putting one of those raised scoops on to improved air flow without having to have the fan roaring? It might also help with providing a bit of positive cabin pressure for reduced dust ingress.....but that might be just wishful thinking

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers
    Gary

Its a recycler. Draws from passengers footwell. Make sure you haven't got a floormat blocking it.

You can pressurise with the heater fan, just set to cold & have the fan running at say Speed 1. No need to run this flat out. If set to the feet, it will have the effect of mixing some fresh air with the air con. But knocks the performance of the a/c for six.

And there's enough leaks in a Defender to ensure a plentiful supply of fresh air!
