Is there a commercially available 6x6 Defender?....or one of these chassis extension companies that does a 6x6, or even a lazy axle?
Thanks in advance.

Fred Smith at Bayswater ( I assume)
There is a mob in Geelong who have been doing them for years- mostly Toyota's . Much easier if its a tray body.

Wyee Bush Fire Brigade have a sixby Defender (I don't think its a Perentie, track is same front and rear and body is standard width)
Have a look on the AULRO facebook page, the photo was posted by Jason Hewitt, he might be able to get you more info...

I suspect it is a 110 6x6 not a Defender. These were manufactured at the same time as the Perentie 6x6 and are mechanically and structurally similar but retain the same track and body width as the 4x4 110, and have the standard 110 cab (only body style was cab/chassis or trayback). Most were sold to mining companies and have long since been run into the ground, although a few still are seen about. If they appear on the market, prices tend to be ridiculous.
I think less than a thousand were sold from about 1984-1989.

Hi John,
This is Jason Hewitt's photo of the vehicle. The dual cab made me think it was a modified 130, but now I look closer, the inner axle appears to be in the 110 position.
Jason says it is constant 4wd with the third axle engageable when needed, which fits with the civillian 110 6x6.
It has lift up door handles, which makes the doors at least, off a 110 not a Defender. The roof is not a 130. My guess is that it is a 110 6x6 with a dual cab constructed from largely station wagon parts. There have been a few dual cab 110s made this way, and it would be the same with the 6x6.
