    Defender Headlights

Can anyone confirm that Defender healights 7" semi-sealed quartz halogen are the same as Nissan Patrol ones. Most people I have spoken to are unsure and I need to replace one or probablly the pair and up here no one has them specifically for a defender. My belief is that they look the same and are a generic fit as a 7" light. Will probablly upgrade to Hella units as one of mine got smashed by a moronic truck driver doing over 100kms through roadworks and showering us all with rocks.
    Cheers

I do not know what the Patrol has, but the Defender lights are standard 7" lights available almost anywhere. I have Hella ones.

    Yes.

My Cibies were originally in our GQ (well, at least one was) before we upgraded to the GU in '01, so they came out and were in the shed for the imminent (at the time) 130 purchase

As JD said they are just a standard 7" round headlight, AKA known as a 7"universal headlight.

There was a headlight thread here in the last week and there were a few links posted that suggested that the Cibies had a better beam when tested than most other 7" headlights, but I'd be just as happy with Hella or IPF.

You won't be happy with it. There is a noticable difference between the glass lucas semi-sealed and the cheap ($50) autobarn reflector on the front of my car. Same bulbs, traxide relay upgrade etc. The cheap one just doesn't reflect as much light as the old lucas one.

I have sealed beam lights in my truck and they are bloody terrible. Along with a traxide upgrade at some point I'll want to be getting some decent semi-sealed lighst so I can oput better bulbs in.

The Hella are the go are they ?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I have Hella and am happy with them. However I need 1 new light, as I tried washing the mud off them at night on the tanami Rd while they were hot and managed to crack one...

So if anyone has a lone 7" hella they wish to sell?
