Don't get me wrong fellas, I do like the car, I like the camaraderie, history, capability, even a lot of it's makers thinking, but like you say a Defender  doesn't make sense in the modern automotive world.  
I understand why LR's tend to stick together.  I am learning not to mention my cars personality to non LR owners.    
But for a strange reason I have not fully come to understand, now I have it back again in the drive all is forgiven, and I look forward to tomorrows drive, and he next, and the next.
