    Pedalbox insulation ?

I have a question regarding the rubberised mat stuff above the pedals... as per photo below.

It doesn't seem to be retained by anything at the top and keeps faling down thus:

...getting in the way of my feet and really peeving me !

    So..

    1. Is there supposed to be somethign retaining it? If so, what ?
    2. I presume it's insulation, but what for? Heat? noise ? both ?
    3. Has anyone replacead theirs, and if so, what with?

    Cheers
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Hi Vlad, the top little plate/ shelf is ssupposed to support the rubber bit, and true to the laws of gravity fails dismally. It is a form of soundproofing, and most just put up with it, glue it in place, or find an alternative matting to stick up there in place of it, with a better rigidity. Sorry I haven't got any actual info on what, some who have actually done this will be able to help I'm sure.

BTW, time for some new pedal rubbers too!

It's made of a sort of card and after time is no long as stif as it use to be. So it can no longer hold its self up there as it ( as already said ) tucks into the bit of metal at the top

Few options which even you Vlad with your lack of experiance of land rovers will be able to do

    Rip it out
    Stick it up there
    Get a new bit

Easy fix with a couple of tec screws and panel washers which means it's easy to remove when access is required.

What about folding that black strip that it sits under at the top so that it pinches the card against the firewall?

I thought that cardboard was just a disposable item. Take it off and bin it, looks better without it on.
