New Defender engine....or maybe a misprint?
I received my Land Rover eNews email yesterday and I noticed that the Defender 90 is on sale for $39,990 drive away, nice. It states that it has a 2.2 litre engine....I have been away for a bit but I'm pretty sure that they haven't brought out a new engine. Can I assume that this is a mistake and that it is not a new powerplant?

At least they're consistent. Remember the full back cover magazine ads that had the Defender being 6 speed automatic.
I didn't notice that, I might dig up some old mags and have a look!
Yes the spelling is one thing!!! Trying to write on the iPhone is always fun.

Noticed the same thing. Good editorial work and research by the marketing department. If that’s how much effort and attention to detail is put into the advertising and marketing department. What’s it like in the other departments?

SubscriberActually I think it's correct, there was some discussion a while ago that there would be a new engine 2.2 version of the duratorq in the defender. Same power/torque but smaller capacity. I seem to recall it was an emissions issue in Europe that drove this change.
I too think its correct
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
