Following on from Rick130,many years ago i worked for a large national company that ran a fleet of Falcon P/vans,early to late 80's.
We used to take out the rear internal panels to help with fitting shelves,alarms etc.Inside these panels we would find handfuls of rust.These vans were brand new.....!:eek:
I found one in the load space of my 8 day old 110 today. I have done 1900 km but nothing rattles yet but I will keep an eye out for more.
Found one with a fixed washer opposed to a rotating one in my MY11 110 last week. Not 100km on the clock and it appeared in the rear footwell. No more have appeared in the subsequent 1600km. Plenty of swarf though throughput the damn thing. It's everywhere! I just hope I catch all that lands on the seats before they work their way in for good.
I haven't found one :(....is that good or bad :confused:...either they are all in place or they ran out of them when they got to mine :mad:.

Many years ago my uncle had a Zephyr sedan.When he cornered, from the rear of the vehicle there came a rumbling sound ending in a clonk. On the next opposite corner the sound moved the other way. We recon there was a bottle in the fuel tank that rolled with the car.
I also found one of these in the back of my 110 about 2months ago and assumed it had come off one of our bikes or bike trailers that were in the back that day. Seems it didn't & I couldn't find anything in the 110 that looked the same - been annoying me a bit since so it's nice to see I'm not alone.
I can also report that a piece of chewing gum, when popped from the foil at just the right angle, will easily fit into the vents on the dash just under the windscreen, never to be seen again...
