Case of the mystery nuts with attached washers

Found this special nut with attached rotating washer in the back of my 2month old 110, thought it might be from some camping gear, but then found 1 more on the ground next to where I park the vehicle a week later! starting to worry that something may be about to fall off!. Did as good an inspection as I could manage underneath but found no similar fasteners. They appear to be the same colour and condition as others on the car, and with a similar profile, however the others I've seen are a bolt rather than a nut with attached rotating washer.
They seem to be about 10mm across the flats (do landrover use metric fittings?) a bit over three eighths.
I'll try to attach a photo.
    Can anyone help?
PS thanks to all who replied to my clanking transmission while coasting in neutral question.

Could they be something to do with your seatbelts? Maybe they were dropped and abandoned during assembly...

    Hi,
    they look familiar.
Having just done a snorkel and a bull bar - its got to be one or the other.
I suspect mountings for the front bumper.
    cheers

    Mystery Nut with Washer

I also found one of those nuts with washer attached on the floor in the back foot well of my three month old Puma 110 and a screw in the back left window channel. Also a mystery.

Keeping an eye out for where they have fallen off. I'll keep you posted.

I don't know if I made it clear in my thread, but the washer is actually attached to the nut and can rotate independently of the nut, so it's obviously for a bolt attaching two surfaces with the ability to have the washer remain still while the nut is being tightened.
Is this the same as what you found?

I've found one in the back as well. Cannot source where it came from.

Makes me remember years ago in my sailing days. You would drop a split pin on an opposition yacht just prior to a race and then watch as they go crazy inspecting the entire rig to see where it came from.

Probably stuck inside somehere by careless/cunning assembly line workers, and they fall off when the heat softens the bituminous spray sealer???
