    Those orange safety steps are pretty good on just about any surface and handy if you have shelves/like to wash the middle of the windscreen every now and then. Avaliable and any industrial safety shop.

    An additional benefit of rock sliders is that they also act as side impact protection for the Defender : without them, a heavy sedan or ute only stops when it hits the chassis......

    Thanks to all posters, I am off to Mulgo on Wednesday next week to get Side Protectors (with the step checker plate) and also an xbox.

    Should be a very interesting day !

    If you have access to a welder making your own steps is fairly easy and there is plenty of pics here on the forum on how to do them .

    This is what i will be doing once i get the time but for now i also have the portable step

    Have a look here at spudboys great set of multi purpose steps great job too
    Built some "4 way" rock sliders/air tanks/steps/recovery points
