    Ultra-Sensitive?
    Static?

Try RF interference, or a lucky frequency match nearby.

    As for how it happened...

Put your bloody key in your pocket

    Been mentioned in other threads.
Never leave the keys in the car unless you can get in. When it happened to me I was parked in my drive so had spare set in house.
Always removed keys when I get out of car after that. Puma 110 wagon.

Edit: I slammed the drivers door shut... a bit harder than I should perhaps, but even so...

Just back from service, it hasn't happened again, they can't find any fault.
Just to be sure I will get a spare cut and then hide it somewhere.

No worries, it will be in the secret compartment in the heel of my left boot.

Shouldn't have procrastinated. On Bribie today, a vehicle with trailer got stuck crossing the lagoon. Time was of the essence for the stricken campers. So donning my hero outfit I jumped into my trusty Defender and raced to help. One other vehicle, a Triton, was closer and got there first. Still wanting to help if needed I hopped out very close to the action and started setting up recovery gear. It was very windy and the doors swung shut. And locked themselves again.
So there I was, close to the waterline, with the engine running, locked out again.
Not a happy person. Eventually managed to break in to the car. Did not do the Land Rover image any good today.

After several attempts the campers were recovered by the Triton. They had the classic snatch strap poorly secured come wizzing back past vehicle and spectators. Luckily no damage or injuries.

Tomorrow I am going to hide a spare key. And have a moan to Land Rover about it happening in the first place.

    Smile Locking issues

    Hi Kenlefred,
I have just become the owner of 110 Defender. When I parked it at the shops it locked OK. When I returned, the locks went crazy. I pressed the button on the remote only to hear the doors unlock, lock and repeat for a few rotations. Bemused I tried again with a repeat of the performance. Eventually I combined the pressing of the remote and pressing the door handle to open the door with the lock dance continuing. Got in shut the door and started without issue. It has done this since, could it be the battery on remote is flat? Both remotes performed the same though.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Camper.

If it is under warranty... straight off to the dealer I would suggest.

    Hi Camper
Mine I don't believe could be caused by the remote. On both occasions it has happened when the door has swung shut. Land Rover at the moment are clueless to what is causing it.

On yours I would have suggested that perhaps a button on the fob was sticking, but as it's happening with both remotes that rules that out.

    Kenley
