    Tall man = bad back

Hi guys the age old story, tall man and a bad back. I have found it getting harder to stay in the 110 for long drives because the standard seat is just not fitting me. My question is who has changed the front seats and what to ?
There must be an after market adjustable seat that will fit. Thanks guys.

How old are the seats? One cheapish option is to replace the foam in the cushions and back.

The seats are in a 2004 110. They are still in good origional shape but I need some different adjustment to get things right for me. Thanks.

A set of seat rail extensions.... like the mulgo ones might help a little if its the legroom that your after.

Otherwise im pretty sure something like the scheel-mann seats ( or similar from other brands) are a bolt in fit.... bloody expensive though at over 1k a pop.

You need to lift them and move them further back. Can be easily done with some square tubing. Lift 1" and mount 2" further back is usually plenty unless you are very tall.

Edit- rectangular tubing is what I meant to write. 50mm x 25mm.

    Hi.

I went another way and took out the original seat altogether. I replaced them with some sport bucket seats i had laying around. These seats Just fit (width) and mounted them on the original defender slides using 6mm flat bar. I have included photos of the new & original seats (be aware that the original (drivers) is mounted on a rail extension bar). I'm 6'1" and these are comfortable.... my girlfriend loves them. The only drawback is that it is a little more cramped between the steering wheel & my knees. But I think it's a small price to pay for easing the pain in my back (injured it a few years ago). Hope that helps

Yep, I had rail extensions (you can just see them at the base of the drivers seat), but my problem was not the leg room but the sore back I used to get from driving with the original seats and their back support, these seats are much more comfy.

I'm 6'2 and don't have seat extensions. I knew some had gone this route but didnt know it was a given. I never felt the need. I think the straight up and down defender seat is great for the back.

Now you've got me worried I'm missing out on something!
