The standard Wipac units are around $47 to $110 depending on where you buy them. Bosch type are aroung $75. Narva upgrades are around $100 to $150.
The crystal type on ebay vary and most I know that have used them reckon they are useless, hence why they are on ebay and most automotive shops stay away from them. Quality is inconsistent.
I have just looked at this and gone the standard Wipac units, they seem to be the most consistent.
Have looked at the Narva units and can not see any significant improvement over standard. The headlight upgrade from Traxide has been the most significant improvement with a set of Phillips globes.

While your at it, go to the trouble of re-wireing your lights with relays and heavy wire.
When I did mine (one at a time) I found the lights were as bright or better with 65w with new wireing than it was before with 100w in them.
I used the IPF's but I dont know if they are better than others or not. I would have like to try the crystal types but havnt found anyone who has them for a report.

HIDs are technically illegal on any road vehicle where they were not fitted as factory. Having said that you would be really unlucky to get picked for having them.
Regardless the HID kits generally do not include the reflector so you will need new reflectors any way.

I put Britax Xray 7" headlights in mine. They have a plane clear polycarbonate lens, like their driving lights there are no ribs in the lens. The reflector disperses the light and they are brilliant. I got them at TJM.
