    Rear springs

    Gidday,

    Iwant to replace the rear springs on my 110 flatdeck and i am after advice on which springs to buy.

    Being in nz , i am fairly limited to choice. There are a couple of local manufacturers, but i am not sure i want to go there as i really want to get a recognised brand.

    There are old man emu available here, but they are only available with a 30mm lift, and being a shortarse i don't really want to cart a stepping stool with me everywhere i go. I want to beef up the rear so that it doesn't sag when i put a load on.

    I have been quoted for some Dobi springs that are rated at 30%stronger, with no increase in ride height, are they any good?

    How about adding 130 inner springs ?

    Polyair's and ride'll be ok unladen, I'm normally running round empty in my c/chassis but when I need to put a ton on just pump up to 15psi -too easy

    Never heard of polysprings before but checked out the link and they seem like a pretty good idea. The only problem would be that in NZ it would be considered a modification and i would need to get it certified at a cost of @$600 which would make it a pricey fix. As for inner springs off of a 130, i didn't know they had them, but 130 s are few and far between over here and i would probably have to get genuine parts at there usual overpriced cost.

    130 rear springs are just a 110 main spring with 140lb inners.

    Try one of the Oz wholesalers like Karcraft, they're pretty reasonable on their pricing or a big wrecker here like Triumph-Rover Spares in SA.

    It shouldn't cost too much to post/air bag across the Tasman.

    Polyair's not classed as Mod. here in NSW- just a bag inside standard coil's, think about $400 au



    As said when unloaded rides ok but with heavy/double springs in a 110c/chassis it'd be like having no rear suspension (mines an alloy tray so fairly light), also no affect to ride height when no air in them

    I can measure up a set I have here and you could price getting a set made, after all they are just a little coil spring.

    Bump stops work good- when loaded with 1T touch diff (good gauge of load weight) and 110 sits level -still allow some upward movement, reckon they do limit articulation offroad a bit.
    Were on defender when I bought it, think these are them - Roadrunner Offroad - Specialising in 4X4 Parts and Accessories - Warragul, Victoria.
    Added airbags as I go over GVM sometimes
